It was opened this morning under the patronage of Major General / Adel Ghadhban, Governor of Port Said, and Professor Dr. Ayman Mohamed Ibrahim, President of Port Said University, and Professor Dr. Maha Zakaria, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Scientific Culture and Innovation Development Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture in Cairo headed by Prof. Dr. / Mahmoud Abu Al-Nasr, former Minister of Education and Professor Dr. Sherif Hammad, Former Minister of Scientific Research, and Major General / Hisham Zain Al-Abidin, Former Assistant Minister of the Interior, The Great Educational Seminar on the occasion of declaring Port Said the Capital of Culture under the title (Synthetic Drugs and their Effects on Young Minds)
The symposium began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the speech of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abu Al-Nasr, former Minister of Education and Chairman of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Development Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture in Cairo, in which the President of the University and the organizers of the symposium saluted because of its importance to preserving youth and society to advance the homeland towards Progress and Professor / Maha Zakaria, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, gave a speech in which she greeted the President of the University for his sponsorship of the symposium and also welcomed the guests and lecturers of the symposium because of the importance of this symposium towards protecting young people from the harms of drugs, which we all strive to combat this phenomenon
After that, a documentary film entitled Port Said, the locomotive of development, was shown by Dr. Ahmed Al-Amiri in the Department of Educational Media, Faculty of Specific Education
In the speech of Prof. Dr. Ayman Mohamed Ibrahim, the President of the University in which he welcomed the seminar’s guests and lecturers, and stressed during his speech that the student activity and the educational process at the university continues and has not stopped. This is why this seminar was to introduce young people to the harms and dangers of drugs and ways to prevent them. His Excellency also reviewed the achievements and presentation of the university’s mechanism. His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and His Excellency Major General / Adel Al-Ghadhban, Governor of Port Said. All thanks for the allocation of 40 feddans east of Port Said in the city of Peace, not the establishment of the National Port Said University
Prof. Dr. / President of the University presented the Shield of Port Said University to both Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abu al-Nasr, former Minister of Education, and Major General / Hisham Zain al-Abidin, former Assistant Minister of Interior.
After that, the attendees listened to a short musical paragraph by Dr. Raji Al-Muqaddam and Dr. Ahmed Al-Arabani. Then the activities of the symposium began, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abu Al-Nasr, the former Minister of Education. The speakers were Prof. Dr. Heba Youssef, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine and a member of the Scientific Culture Committee, and she spoke about the types of manufactured drugs. And its effects on the nervous system and brain and its impact on youth. Major General / Hisham Zain El-Din also spoke about the security perspective and methods of combating the General Administration for Drug Control and Port Security
The symposium was attended by Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din, Vice President of the Egyptian Senate, Prof. Maha Zakaria, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Galal Salem, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Deans and Vice-Presidents of the University's Faculties, and a group of political, executive and popular leaderships, media professionals, and a number A large number of students from different colleges of the university
